After a long battle with metastatic breast cancer, Bunnie Jean Albert died on June 7, 2016 in
Sonoma, CA at the age of 69.
Bunnie was born on December 17, 1946 in Sacramento, CA, to father Earl Albert Farnsworth and
mother Helen Klauser, who predeceased her. She grew up in a large, loving family with two sisters
and two brothers. After high school, she joined the US Navy.
Although she worked for many years for the US Government, her passion was to ‘play in the dirt’.
After retirement from the government she pursued her dream as a Landscape Designer. She loved
the outdoors and the ocean. Even after being diagnosed with breast cancer, for the third time in 9
years, she flew to Hawaii, with her partner and friends, to enjoy whale watching and snorkeling. She
remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months. But her true sprit was
summed up by one of her Kaiser nurses, “it only takes a second to get a warm and wonderful feeling
when in her presence – a being that is full of light”.
Bunnie is survived by her life partner Nora and children, Ellen, Kari and Brian – as well as her sisters,
Janet and Midge; her brother Ralph and her grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew. She is preceded in
death by her parents and her brother Ray.
Bunnie requested to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at her home Saturday, June 18;
all are welcome. The family would especially like to thank Heartland Hospice, for their excellent work
and loving care; and the staff of Kaiser Hospital San Rafael for their constant, attentive treatment; and
the Adobe Funeral Home, for making the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to
The National Breast Cancer Foundation.
