On Thursday November 8, 2018, Charles (Charlie) Albert Johansen, loving husband and father of two children passed peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 66. A native San Franciscan, Charlie was born on September 19, 1952 to George and Doreen (Fenton) Johansen. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. Charlie worked as a marine machinist at the shipyards in San Francisco. On June 7, 1980, he married Linda Diane Peterson, also a San Francisco native. Together they raised twins, Stefanie and Andrew. In 1993 the family moved to Petaluma.

Charlie had a passion for surfing, handball, woodworking, reading, music and John Wayne movies. He loved to bake muffins, breads and cakes. He enjoyed following the San Francisco Giants and attended many games, mostly at Candlestick. Charlie and his wife were at Candlestick Park during the 1989 earthquake. Charlie and his wife loved to go on cruises, four times with KNBR radio and Giants’ players. On two occasions, they brought the twins, also avid Giants’ fans.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father (George), his mother (Doreen) and his step-father John (Jack) Knudsen. Charlie was only 11 when his father passed. Charlie is survived by his wife (Linda), daughter (Stefanie), son (Andrew) and two granddaughters (Nevaeh and Giavanna).

A funeral service will take place on Saturday November 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Adobe Creek Funeral Home, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma, CA.
