Diane Horn, 58, of Santa Rosa, California passed away at home on Saturday, October 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Diane was born in Richmond, California on March 12, 1960 to the late Harvey and Irene Weinreich. She graduated from Lodi High school and then Fresno State with a BS degree in Animal Science. After graduation she worked in the horse industry for a few years before becoming a fulltime mom, her true passion.

As you remember Diane, it’s hard to put into words how her humble, kind, and passionate nature influenced everyone around her. Diane’s energetic mannerism was contagious and left residual happiness with everyone she touched. Whether it was her involvement in the Cove Presbyterian Church as a Leader and Elder with her unyielding faith. Her community involvement with Project Grad. Or her passion for gardening and cooking with her daughters from their home-grown vegetables and fresh eggs. Getting together with friends for a meal or coffee was something held dear. Diane was an exceedingly gifted quilter and seamstress. Her love of the outdoors was more than solidified when she joined the Sonoma County Search and Rescue team and CARDA (California Rescue Dog Association) with her search dog Rocket. She loved being outside, camping, hiking and the occasional white-water rafting trips.

To her daughters, she was an empathetic fixer of bad days, whether it was a kind word of encouragement, brownies or a never-ending hug, our lives were better with her in it. Every call and reunion was greeted with an overwhelming sense of love and excitement. Mom’s message of joy and grace was never far from our minds. Joy and grace are important to cherish and to also share with others.

She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 38 years Keith, and daughters Maggi and Samantha. Her brother Eric and sister Susan and their families which include many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was also very close to her in-laws Robert and Charlene Horn and Keith’s brothers Russ, Dave, Steve and their families.

A Celebration of Diane’s Life will be held this Saturday October 27, 2018 at 1pm at the Hoffman Park, 21900 Geyserville Ave, Geyserville, Ca, 95441.

Any donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
