Dorothy Katherine (Mc Kinney) Miller,

Age 92, born November 3, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 18th, 2017, surrounded by her daughter and loving family at Novato Health Care Center in Novato, CA.

Dorothy left Maryland at the age of 21 when she married and moved to California.   She loved her Sunshine State and never left.  She enjoyed caring for her home and family.  She worked for many years as a “Head” floor production lady at See’s Candy in South San Francisco.  When she retired from Sees, she went to work at White’s Candy Factory also in the area. Her title there was “The Sample Lady” as she made sample boxes of their hard candies to ship throughout the United States.  In much later years, she enjoyed working as a yard supervisor at Parkside Junior High School.  She was an extremely hard worker her entire life.  Her wicked sense of fun and humor will be deeply missed.

Her survivors include her daughter, Linda Goodman (Richard) CA, son, Roy Mc Kinney (JoAnne) (CA), her grandchildren Scotty Goodman, Randy Goodman, Hsiao Chen-Tsai and Cynthia Goodman (CA). In her final years, her greatest joy in life was watching her two great- grandsons, Grant and Gunnar Goodman, play and push her about in her wheelchair. Cremation arrangements by Adobe Creek Funeral Home in Petaluma, CA.  Burial services will be held at a later date for her family at Greenlawn Memorial Park in South San Francisco. A special thank you to the staff at Novato Health Care Center for their love and care for Dorothy.  She made many friends there the six years of her residence.  With Gratitude to the Continuum Care Hospice Center for helping Dorothy and her entire family during her final days.  To Rita Glassman for her beautiful voice, blessings and spirit.
