Eddie M. Connor, Jr., 54, of Guerneville, transitioned peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 9, 2017 after battling cancer.  He was born in Duluth, MN on February 1, 1963 to Dorothy “Dottie” Connor and Eddie M. Connor, Sr.  Eddie had worked in the hotel industry until his retirement and was known for his generous hospitality and welcoming nature.

Eddie will always be remembered for his even disposition and midwestern sensibilities.  He was a masterful home engineer and often boasted that he “kept the trains running on time”.  An artful newsmonger, Eddie could engage you in casual, unconstrained conversation and knew the angles on nearly any person or topic of your choosing.  He would gleefully give an account of any given person’s epiphany, or “come-to-Jesus moment”.  At the end of the day, it became evident that his parents, who were transplanted from Georgia and Oklahoma had passed on a heaping helping of Southern Hospitality.  Eddie’s Southern Charm was palpable, and his Boy Scout traditions shone through in his overall approach to the world.  And boy, did he know how to throw a party.

Preceded in death by his father, Eddie is survived by his adoring spouse of fifteen years, Matthew Parkhurst, and his stepdaughter Laura Parkhurst-Burcham of Alexander, AR.  He is also survived by his grandson Cedrych, his mother Dorothy, his sisters Jane Cox and her husband Jeffery of Duluth, and June Connor of Grayson, GA.  He is also remembered in the hearts of a host of nieces and nephews.  On the Connor side of the family, these include Deanna Fearnbaugh and her husband Matthew, Aaron Cox, and Shannon Cox.  A celebration of his life will be hosted at his home at 18155 Old Monte Rio Road in Guerneville on Saturday April 22nd at 1:00pm.
