Elizabeth was born in Csörötnek, Hungary and died in Petaluma on May 5, 2018 after a long illness with dementia. She came to the United States in 1957 and spent a few years in Pennsylvania before coming out to California and marrying her husband, Zoltan in 1960. They lived in the south bay area for many years. Elizabeth worked as a ceramics inspector and was good at the detailed work it involved. Her pride and joy though, was being a mother and housewife. Elizabeth’s loves included: cooking and baking delicious Hungarian meals, her faith in God, flowers, birds, sewing, and of course, her two grandchildren. She shared traditions like “Mikulás Nap”, coloring Easter eggs, and making palacsinta with all of us. One of her favorite things to do was spend time in her backyard growing Hungarian peppers, tomatoes and other vegetables, and lots of beautiful flowers. She will be remembered for her simple and loving heart, and greatly missed by her husband Zoltan, her daughter Eva, her son-in-law Richard, and her grandchildren Katie and Christopher Sachen.
A bi-lingual memorial mass will be celebrated for her on Sunday May 27th, 11 a.m. at Woodside Priory chapel.
