Buz was called home on April 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was 94 years old.  He is survived by his sons, David (Judy) Ramponi, Stephen (Alice) Ramponi, his daughters Cathy(William) Raimondi, and Margaret (Dave) Colglazier Browne, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother Earl (Joanne) Ramponi and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Yolanda, in 2016. His son Paul Ramponi, parents Virgilio & Ulna (Martinelli) Ramponi Sr. and brothers Kenneth “Chet” Ramponi, Alvin “Sam” Ramponi and Virgilio “Punky” Ramponi Jr.. Buz was born in the “Shafters Bridge” area located where Samuel P. Taylor State Park is now. As a child, his family lived in numerous places in Olema, Forest Knolls, Lagunitas and Inverness area. As an adult, he worked in the Olema Valley hills including Bolinas Ridge, Tocaloma and Five Brooks. He was a “Greens Picker” for Western Evergreen for 40 years going into the hills cutting ferns, huckleberry, redwood, pine, etc for the wholesale florist market.  Later in life he owned and operated his own gardening, landscaping business before retiring in Petaluma.  He loved the outdoors and all the hunting and fishing it offered. Buz served his country honorably in the United States Army 7th infantry as a combat engineer during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Services will be held at Adobe Creek Funeral Home, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 1pm. Entombment with military honors will be private at Olema Cemetery, Olema.
