Jane Marie Poole passed away at her home on September 29th, 2018. Born in San Francisco on April 15th, 1961 to Frank J. O’Leary and Barbara O’Leary (Stewart), she was the youngest of four daughters Mary (Peterson), Peggy (Tremper) and Katie (Lucey).

She grew up in San Francisco and Terra Linda, graduating from Terra Linda High School in 1979. She met and fell in love with Jim Poole and they were married in 1984. Jane and Jim were married for thirty four years and had two daughters, Megan Poole and Kerry Covella (Poole). They raised their daughters and attended many soccer, softball, and volleyball games in Rohnert Park. Jane started attending the Santa Rosa Junior College in 1994 with the goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. She graduated from the program in 1998 with honors and went on to work in several Sonoma County hospitals.

Jane also spent time working as an Occupational Health Nurse for State Farm in Rohnert Park for several years. She loved her husband, daughters, family, friends, dogs, and reading her morning Chronicle very much and brought a great deal of laughter to others. Jane looked forward to football season every year so that she could cheer on the 49ers and Oregon State Beavers (and hurl insults at refs and opposing teams).

She loved vacationing in Hawaii with Jim, and gave better directions within Disneyland than any map (curiously always ending at the line for the Matterhorn). Jane also loved redwood trees, and no matter the weather would roll down all car windows in order to smell them whenever she passed by a stand of the trees. She will be dearly missed by the people whose lives she touched and will be remembered always as HRHRN (her royal highness, RN).

Donations made in her memory can be sent to the Linn Benton Food Share in Corvallis, Oregon.
