Lillian died suddenly on January 2, 2017. She had returned to California after residing in Spring, Texas for eight years. She is survived by two sisters Juliet Simpson and Pauline Offord. Two children, Jacqueline Lee and Michael Lee and one grandchild whom she adored, Michael Shaquille Lee and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Lillian Juanita Lee was born in 1941, in Joliet Illinois, to the union of Lincoln and Cleo Simpson. She was the third of five girls. The family moved to Marin City around 1945.

She graduated from Tamalpais High and married Walter Lee Jr. and was one of the first black women to graduate from College of Marin’s License Vocational Nursing Program.

After working many years at Marin General Hospital in surgery, she enrolled at St. Luke’s School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse. She worked in several Convalescent Hospitals before retiring from The Redwoods Convalescent Hospital in Mill Valley in 2008 as Director of Nursing.

Memorial Services will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church 101 Donahue St. Marin City, CA

11 am Saturday January 21, 2017.
