Magda Cruz Williams, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister and friend died on July 3rd, 2019, at her home in Petaluma, California.

Born in Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, into a family of 2 sisters and one brother, Magda grew up to be a lovely, social young woman, working in Mexico City at a hotel gift shop, and later settling in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She worked in her uncle’s restaurant in Oklahoma City, — learning English by listening to the radio and going to the movies —  eventually becoming a manager, where she met her husband, Ted. A homemaker and mother of three children, she returned to working at restaurants when her children went to college. She loved spending time with her family, dancing, swing music, and looking at the gardens in California.

Magda was a sharp, mobile 96 years old, still making friends at the Senior Center exercise classes, charming her doctors, and lovingly exasperating her son and daughter. She is survived by a large and loving family, including her sister, Florinda Cruz Alvarado of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her son, Tony Williams, of Houston, Texas, her daughter, Melinda and son-in-law Tony Maniscalco, and their two sons, all of Petaluma, California. Her grandsons were a delight to her, patiently explaining CNN headlines to her, as she was entertaining to them, telling them stories about her early life and trading views on world events. She kept her wit, curiosity, and sweet tooth all the way to the end.

She will be interred at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Memorial gifts can be made to St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy, Petaluma, California  94954
