Dear Family of Penny -- Your mother was a precious, loving individual and a blessing to know. There are so many memories from our ministry together at Christ the King School. God give you and all Penny's friends courage and peace as you mourn her death. May Penny rest in peace.

I taught with Penny at Christ the King for many years. I was always touched by her gentle nature and the love she had for the children. We shared many fun times together, she was always ready to enjoy a lunch or coffee together. We missed her when she retired, but we all felt that she deserved to enjoy her well earned retirement The son of one of my best friends bought the home on Horton Ct. It is still filled with love! Rest in peace Penny, you were loved by many.

I'm am so very saddened by the loss of Penny. She was one of a kind, sweet and kind, loved all, and cared about everyone. She was a staple at the pool every summer and there wasn't a child or adult who didn't enjoy her presence and a chat with her. To Cathie & Mark, we will always consider 20 Horten Ct. your home and home to Penny. Hugs to all of you.

I’m so sorry to hear. Mrs Grant (even as an adult it was always Mrs Grant), was a second mom to all the kids on Horten & Hamar. She had the most welcoming home on the street. You could always knock on the door, or in summtime just walk straight in the open door. It didnt matter if any of the kids were home she was happy to see you and have a chat. We are all very lucky to have grown up those streets with such wonderful famlies. Mrs Grant was a big part of those days for all of us, and she will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Here is a copy of the prayer mom used to recite with her kindergarteners at the start of each day, in her own handwriting, which is a great reflection of how she lived her life…
