William J. Lehmann, age 78, of Novato, CA, passed away on September 17, 2018. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin to Joseph and Phyllis Lehmann on June 8, 1940. He was raised in several different states before settling in San Diego, CA where he graduated from Saint Augustine high school. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1963 and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Human Resources) in 1966, both from San Diego State University. He held a California Community College instructor credential in business and industrial management, and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity where he served as House Manager as well as ritualist and a member of the Executive Committee.

He joined Chevron Corporation in April, 1967 as a Human Resources representative for Chevron Research Company. Over his nearly 33 year career with Chevron he held several positions of increasing responsibility including Coordinator, HR Merger Programs for the 1984 merger of the Chevron and Gulf Companies. At his retirement in December 1999, he was General Manager, Organization/Compensation Planning & Administration.

He met his beloved Ginny in September 1970, and they were married and moved to Marin County in February, 1971. In April 1972 they moved to Novato, and have lived there ever since. They were active members of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic church where Bill served as lector, Eucharistic Minister, occasional alter server, and member of his wife’s choir. He was an active member of the Cursillo Community for many years.

He and Ginny were avid SCUBA divers with numerous trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean, and the South Pacific. Bill incorporated his love of photography into his SCUBA diving. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Ginny of 47 years, daughter Jenne (Shane), son Joel (Jen), sister Judy (Bill Hunt), and four grandchildren Kelsey, Nickolas, Rosalind, and Jayden.
